We went with a friend to Doolin's Irish pub for Tartan Night. Since our friend was in a kilt, DH got a free Guiness. Not bad for just having a guy show up in a skirt. Lots of men there in kilts, including the guy who runs the Gung Haggis Fat Choy, a mix of Chinese New Year and Robbie Burns Day.
Food there was good, and the fashion show of kilts was interesting. I guess the night would've been perfect for most people if the Canucks had actually won.

Kilts? Is it true what they say about no undies? I'll bet that was a blast. I checked out that site and added it to favorites. Love that song! I am fascinated with Ireland and always like a good Guiness. On another note - You wouldn't happen to have a good recipe for a lite chicken salad would you? I have one that I have been using for 2 years now, but I am growing tired of it. I want one now that has lettuce in it.
I remember reading about the Gung Haggis Fat Choy celebration. What a hoot! Great for the boys who have both heritage in them.
Oh wait...I was thinking Irish...not positive about Scottish blood, but Scott probably does have that too in the mix.
Yeah, I'm going to have to check it out one year, just to see how haggis fits into a chinese new year celebration.
And to answer your question Rosie, it's true. Many women ask the question and then check for the answer themselves. That's probably why the men where the kilt in the first place.
We're going to do an Ireland/Scotland/England trip one of these years (read drinking trip). I think hubby's more interested in that trip than going anywhere else.
I have an asian chicken salad recipe, so I'll look for that for you and post it. It would use napa cabbage, which is a nice change from regular lettuce.
You're probably right! Horn dogs...
That trip sounds amazing. I work sometimes for a Travel Agent (she is located within the attorney's office I work in) so I get to hear her telling everyone about how wonderful it will all be and i see the travel guides. I saw the pictures of some of her trips, one to Paris. But I don't get to do anything like that. I have only been to Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi. I love to see the pictures!
Oh to be young and single again. LOL!
It will be nice to go travelling again, that's one of the reasons why we don't have kids or pets, so we can take off when we want. Tell the travel agent that you'll go along to help out with the legalities for her, just as a favour, of course. (wink).
Well at least you're seeing your own country, which is more than I can say.
