I'm baaack

Thanks for missing me Rosie. :-)

I wasn't really planning on taking a hiatus from blogging, but I started a new job this past week, and it didn't seem appropriate to blog at work while I'm still the newbie.

It's a great department to work in, they are so organized. Every new person walking through those doors gets a welcome package which includes an internal directory (and they update it regularly to reflect all the newbies), policies and procedures, and a pin of the department's logo. But the best part about this place is that week 1, they have a farewell party for a couple of people, and we all know what that means: food. They ordered in cookies and tea and coffee. I had already resisted the Rolosicles that had made its way around the office, but I couldn't pass on the chocolate dipped shortbread at the party. I had to be polite afterall, right? Next week is their monthly tea party to celebrate the birthdays for the month and I guess just overall have an excuse to socialize. Works for me.

I'm a huge fan of tea. Noone at my office cares for it. They don't even drink coffee. So, I drink alone. Your new job sounds like a keeper. They how to make you feel welcome, don't they? Cookies, tea, welcome packages... what the heck is a Rolosicle? Rolo candy made into a popsicle? Like a Fudge bar with caramel in the middle or something?

yeah, I wanted to know what a Rolosicle is too.

If you didn't know it already, Rosie, you fit right in with us: we love both tea (green, black, herbal, ya name it) and coffee. I've never worked in an office which didn't have a pot of coffee.

Can't wait to check out your new office next time we're in town, Epi!

You must work with some strange people Rosie, if they dont' like tea or coffee. What gives? And aren't you in a law firm, aren't those people caffeine addicts?

Yep, Rolosicles, I couldnt' think of what else to call them, are Rolos in popsicle form. Too sweet for my taste.

Not much of an office Shades, just lots of cubicles for us office rats. ;)

Well, as long as you can find your way out of the cubicle maze to get your cheese (or to go home), my little rat. ;D

The new job sounds great and best of all, it's back on campus! Good excuse for me to see the place time and again when we meet up for lunch - hopefully that'll be sooner rather than later ;-)

Do you get flex days again in this position??
