Time for a career change

As opposed to a cool change as suggested by Little River Band? I was thinking, after that last rant, that maybe my true calling in life should be one of those annoying talk show hosts, you know, a combination of Dr. Laura and Jerry Springer. Lord knows I seem to intimidate my classmates and I've managed to piss off a good friend. If that doesnt' lead to a career in trash talk shows, I don't know what will.

Actually, I'm feeling kinda like that fellow in that joke. Y'know, the one about John the Greek saying, "you build a great city, but do they call you John the architect? No! You build the biggest, best yacht in the world, and do they call you John the Boat Builder? No! You screw one goat..." My notoriety precedes me I'm afraid.

But I think I'm going to go back to writing about food. It's a safer topic, and I shouldn't get into any trouble writing about that. So, to start, since it was a dark and cool night, we decided to have spaghetti for dinner. I had sauce in the freezer already, so it was just a matter of boiling up some pasta. But the thing that makes the pasta worth eating is the freshly grated Parmesan. I will never go back to the stuff that spills out of a container by Kraft anymore.

Gotta find a restaurant to take mom & dad to this weekend as well. Dad's birthday today, so we said we'd take them out on Sunday. Mom wants us to choose the restaurant. Should be interesting. Last time we took them to a place, mom felt she was too dressed up for it. I think mom's idea of dressing up is having the colours compliment each other rather than clash. So once I find the restaurant and we try it out, I'll write more.

Not parmesan, my dear, but Parmigiano-Reggiano. ;) I personally prefer Pecorino Romano myself.

Food is definitely safer...unless there's salmonella or e. coli involved.

Good luck salvaging the friendship. I'm trying to alienate some friends myself. Haha!

I don't like that Kraft parmy either. May as well sprinkle cardboard on your pasta.

That's the one, Parmigiano-Reggiano. Hard to type something that complicated when your mind is mush tho.

Blogging food is safe, and I like to think that the friendship has been salvaged, thank you. Maybe it was the lack of Kraft parmesan (aka cardboard). Although that would add fibre to the relationship without the calories.
